Hi, I'm Kaitlyn.

I started this little business almost ten years ago as The Green Goddess, selling cuttings of my plants to support my plant habit. Then I lost my mom suddenly, and later that same year found out I was pregnant with my son. Plants went on the back burner, especially after Helene destroyed my greenhouse.

So I shifted gears and started making eco inspired art, which is where the "Go" came from, along with being an environmental science teacher. A pearl from someone on TikTok sent me looking for how to make a necklace, and I discovered wire wrapping. It came surprisingly naturally, and I fell in love.

I'd been wire wrapping for about four years when pipe cleaner flowers kept popping up on my TikTok. I told my friend, "my toxic trait is I think I can do this," and she said why not try? So I did, and fell in love all over again. I learned every technique I could, then ran with it to make some of the plants I had loved and lost. I tried a few at a market in January and they were a huge hit.

In February I reinjured a herniated disc in my back and suddenly went deaf in my left ear. I was out of work for about six weeks, getting injections, dealing with awful vertigo and adapting to one-sided hearing. So I immersed myself in my flowers and plants. Blasted my music, cried, learned new things, and enjoyed the happiness they brought me through the second hardest thing I've ever been through.

The name Peace Plants came about while the monks' walk for peace was going on. It weirdly coincided. They're worry free, you can't kill them, they need zero care. Peace of mind.

I've always loved nature, and I'm a high school science teacher by day, so the melding of art and science truly lives in my brain and heart.
